In remixing The White Album and bringing unheard Beatles music to light, Giles Martin is investing new life in the most hallowed catalogue in music. There’s A Freshness Breathed Into It : Giles Martin On The 50th-Anniversary White Album.

I'm Coming Home is an album by American pop singer Johnny Mathis that was released on September 21, 1973, by Columbia Records and was mainly composed of material written by the songwriting team of its producer, Thom Bell, and Linda Creed. Unlike several of the Mathis albums before it, I'm Coming Home relied primarily on new songs and included only two covers of established chart hits, both of which were by The Stylistics ("I'm Stone in Love with You" and "Stop Look and Listen to Your Heart").

Only days after seeming to confirm an upcoming Beatles box set coming for 1968’s The White Album - archival producer Giles Martin is now backpedling saying that it was actually a misunderstanding. Martin, who is behind Friday’s (May 26th) release of the deluxe and expanded version of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, had recently stated in part to the BBC, ‘The ‘White Album,’ which is the next release - that is where they started becoming indulgent. There are 70 takes of ‘Sexy Sadie,’ for instance. The efficiency went slightly out the window.

Nobody's Ever Going To Want Me 8. A Sleeping Heart 9. Buried Above Ground It is obvious that Dan Barrett is one of the most talented artists of this generation. The best thing about Giles Corey is that it all seems okay almost in spite of itself, that for all Barrett’s attempts to make us inhabit his desolate soundscape, goodness shines through in brief flashes and its light is visible if only for a moment. 4/5″ - Sputnik Music Let me tell you that Mr. Barrett has crafted (willingly or woefully) the finest piece of unflinching blues I’ve heard in twenty years, at least.

Music: "Coming Into Los Angeles" by Arlo Guthrie, published by Concord Music Group.
